Twitter has begun rolling out a new feature called “while you were away.”
The new feature recaps important tweets users may have missed since their last login to the site or open their twitter app.
Similar to Facebook’s news feed, this addition aims at preserving important tweets that could get lost by the 500 million tweets pushed on daily basis. The new feed is displayed based on “important” tweets and in a non-chronological order.
Twitter also said back in November that it is testing new features like “personalised timeline” and enhanced Direct messages.
We can use information like who you follow and what you engage with to surface highlights of what you missed and show those to you as soon as you log back in or come back to the app, said Kevin Weil in a blog post back in November.
