Wileyfox, a new smartphone maker has emerged out of the UK with 2 new smartphones on its launch, both running Cyanogen OS. The Swift, which costs £129 (around $200) and the Storm at £199 (around $315).
Both smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and are 4G LTE capable. The Storm boasts an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chip, while the Swift, the less powerful of the two, runs on a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 chip. Both phones will have dual SIM slots……oh and they come in “Sandstone Black.”
The Storm has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with a 20-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel on the front. The Swift on the other hand, offers a slightly less powerful option, has a 5-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. Both phones have Micro SD expandable storage.
Wileyfox doesn’t seem to be contending for the flagship market, but rather going for good specs at an aggressive price point.
The company says these smartphones will be available across the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East with pre-orders starting this week and shipping in early September for the the Swift and October for the Storm.
