The first Windows 10 ad is all about ‘Being Human’

Remember the Mac vs PC ads ? That was Apple’s key takeaway that showed their systems were simple enough yet effective. Now,we’re in a new age of advertising where babies are the effective notion to hit you right in the feelings.

Microsoft has launched its series of Windows 10 ads with with kids all over the world with the underlying idea that the next generation will have a better and much easier life as they “will grow up with Windows 10.” The ad explains briefly that Windows 10 won’t be kids remembering passwords or obsess about security. Notably, the ad goes on to be subtle by saying that as kids grow, “they will get better at things” and the operating system will grow with them. Indicating that Windows 10 will be updated and will evolve in time, rather than releasing a standalone OS every once in a while.

It’s an interesting switch on things, Apple’s Apple iphone ad on the iPhone emphasized on brand awareness while Microsoft focused on a slightly more human element which shows that technology is definitely going to help the children of the coming decade. The ad focused on Edge, Cortana, a better personalized Start Menu and Windows hello for about seven seconds. Redmond wants us to believe that Windows 10 is going to change the world although the fanfare seems to have humbled down over the years.

The ads, already playing in several key markets, will eventually be shown worldwide on July 29th when Windows 10 rolls out officially.
