If you spent your time in front of the TV set watching sunday cartoons, you would recognize one of the many iconic cartoons that hit your screens. Swat Kats being one of them. Fast forward 22 years and now we could see the feline duo, T-Bone and Razor make a comeback.
Christian Tremblay and Yvon Tremblay, creators of Swat Kats want to crowdfund their return through Kickstarter. The brothers want to create a new generation of the series, titled Swat Kats Revolution. With an initial stretch goal of $50,000, they will create a series bible along with concept and character art with three scripts for a TV series. With the maximum stretch goal of $1.5 million it will allow the creators to produce a streaming movie. As of this time of filing this story, the project has currently raised $52,172 from 706 backers with 27 days left to go. Backers are promised limited edition Swat Kats merchandise from T-Shirts to original artwork signed by the Tremblay brothers.
If you missed out the 90’s, Swat Kats was an original cartoon series which aired on Cartoon Network from 1993-1994 and came from the Hanna-Barbera studios. You can still find some of the episodes of the series across the Interwebs but I’ll leave some nostalgia fuel here. Let’s hope we’ll see a lot more of the old series titles come back to life.
