STEP Group this year celebrates the fifth edition of its flagship STEP Conference with the launch of STEP Music. Presented as STEP2017, the two events will be taking place on April 5-6 at the Dubai International Marine Club and will be gathering over 400 startups and 10,000 entrepreneurs, investors, and tech & media enthusiasts. STEP Music will be held on the 7th of April.
STEP2017 attendees can expect talks and panels from industry leaders such as Facebook’s Vice President, Global Business Platform Partnerships, Sean Ryan, or BBC World News’ multi-platform producer and journalist Lorna Blount. Leaders from Uber, Wamda, Anghami, AJ+ and more will also be giving speeches, with a smattering of entrepreneurs also giving talks. These same pioneers will also be hosting workshops to teach people the ins and outs of their respective industries. Lastly, attendees can also meet the hottest companies from tech, digital and entertainment industries, watch their latest innovations and find out about what they’re up to next at the STEP Exhibition Square.
Furthermore, STEP2017 will also feature the Startup Basecamp. Collaborating with Wamda, the Startup Basecamp aims to gather over 400 of the world’s most promising startups from all industries and funding stages. Other Startups are encouraged to apply on the Step Conference website. Showcasing startups get exclusive access to register for STEP Pitch Competition. The Competition happens over the two days, with startups pitching to a panel of judges including industry experts and investors. Winners will be announced on the main stage to receive their prizes.
Since STEP2017 also sees the introduction of STEP Music, a collaboration with Anghami. At the conference, label executives, producers, musicians, music journalists, sound engineers and DJs will be there on April 7 to network with attendees. Furthermore, attendees will also be able to learn about new opportunities and watch some of the industry’s top leaders give talks and insights on the future of MENA’s music industry. Attendees can also expect to see more than 15 performances by artists from the MENA region, with the Step After Party being held after the event is over. Step Music will take place at the Dubai International Marine Club.
