According to a new report from Reuters, Sony is open to multiple options for its struggling mobile and TV division. Reuters has reported that the company is looking at a joint venture or even selling the entire business.
The mobile and TV businesses both require a drastic overhaul, without drastic reforms such as joint ventures or alliances, they will both be in the red three years from now, said Sony Corp CEO Kazuo Hirai during CES 2015.
Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai is reportedly open to the idea after failing to turn around the company’s numbers since taking over in April 2012. The Japanese giant is now facing a $1.9 billion loss for the current business year.
Sony adapted a similar strategy with its Vaio business last year.
