At MWC16, Sony launched its new smartphone line, the Xperia X.
The Xperia X, XA and X Performance are the first three smartphones from the new line packing 5″ screens and metal back.
Xperia X
The Xperia X features a 5-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chip and expandable MicroSD storage, 3GB of RAM, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with 32GB of storage. On the camera front, which sony stressed a lot on, the device houses the company’s 1/2.3-inch, 23-megapixel Exmor sensor and features the company’s own Prediction Hybrid Autofocus to track and keep movement and objects focused. On the front, there’s a 13-megapixel camera.
Sony also said that the new Xperia X has a two day battery life (2,620mAh). Other features of course include a fingerprint reader.
Xperia X Performance
The powerful Xperia X Performance features a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and has a 5″ 1080p display. You’ll have the same 23MP camera with Hybrid AF and a 13MP front cam. The X performance is water proof with IP68 grading.

Xperia XA
The Xperia XA has a 5-inch 720p display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera and a 64-bit MediaTek MT6755 processor. The Xperia XA doesn’t have a fingerprint reader nor stereo speakers.

Xperia Ear
Sony has also introduced the Xperia Ear, a Smart wireless earpiece which they said is “a next-generation wireless ear-piece.”
The Xperia Ear can respond to verbal commands, and let allows user to perform online search, dictate messages, provide information about your schedule and get the weather and the latest news. It connects via Bluetooth and NFC and has an all day battery life.
The Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA each have a range of matching Style Covers and will roll out in four finishes; White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold, from Summer 2016.
