VOX Cinemas held a Sneak Peek event for a crowd of film buffs last night, showcasing trailers for upcoming movies in 2015. Divided into 5 categories, with 5 films each, the event was a trailer binge-fest at its best; the crowd even got to munch on free popcorn and soft drinks whilst enjoying the experience. It’s one thing to watch all these trailers at the comfort of your own home, but it’s an entirely different feeling to watch ’em all on a huge screen amongst a crowd of film buffs. Especially when cheering, laughter and the like was encouraged during viewing of the trailers.
First up is Comedies.
The Wedding Ringer (releasing February 19);
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (releasing March 19)
The Cobbler (releasing April 2)

Spy and Ted 2 have received most cheers and laughs, with crowd response eagerly awaiting the release of those two.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge definitely received a lot of cheers from the Bollywood fans, and Vox revealed they will be selling merchandise tied to the movie as well because there has been a high demand for that. Ghadi will be premiered at Vox Cinemas with the director and cast of the film making an appearance to answer any questions about the film on the night of the UAE premiere. Cake got the most response out of the crowd as far as cheers for Jennifer Aniston’s performance in the trailer alone. Equally The Age of Adaline looks very promising.

It’s hard to choose a favourite in this section. The crowd liked them all, based on the response. Minions was an obvious highlight, but Inside Out and Home also stood out in their own way too.
In the Action/Adventure section there’s
Kingsman: The Secret Service (releasing February 12)
Kidnapping Mr Heineken (releasing March 5)
Run All Night (releasing April 16)
San Andreas (releasing May 28)

This section is intense, all the films featured promise to give viewers a dose of adrenaline.

Fantastic 4 (releasing August 6)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (releasing December 17)
It’s the blockbusters section, they’re all going to be the cause of quite a lot of buzz amongst the crowds.
Also revealed at the event were the results of a poll conducted by Vox Cinemas earlier. The films were not part of any of the above sections specifically because of their placement in said poll. Here are the top three most anticipated films Vox Cinema patrons want to see this year:
3. Jurassic World
2. Furious 7
1. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Some of the films featured will be also shown in Vox Cinemas’ 4DX technology, guaranteed to make your film going experience that much more interesting and exciting, if you’re bored of your current film-going experience. Personally, I’m looking forward to watching (and possibly reviewing as well as analysing) a couple of these, amongst them: Spy, CHAPPiE, Home, Minions, Tomorrowland, Inside Out, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Terminator: Genesys, Jurassic World, Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron and others that were part of this event as well as some that weren’t (new Mission Impossible flick, anyone?). 2015 is looking like an interesting year for films.
Are you surprised by any of the films on the list? Out of all the movies showcased at the event, which ones are you most looking forward to? Where there some films showcased at the event that you’ve never heard of before?
