Samsung’s new technology could double battery life on smartphones

A Newly published research from Samsung Electronics could lead the way to a major improvement in smartphones battery life.

The research arm of the company has found a way to manufacture new type of silicon cathode material for coating the graphene of the silicon surface of batteries. In simpler terms, Samsung has found a way to load the battery packs with twice the energy level of current ones.

Samsung says the technology is still two or three years away from being released onto commercial products.
