Samsung has unveiled the much awaited Galaxy Note 5 and the long rumoured Galaxy S6 Edge+ … and topped the whole thing off with a physical keyboard accessory for those looking for the ultimate Throwback Thursday.
The Note 5 is a 5.7″ screen like its predecessor, but the design and hardware received major overhauls – most of which have been borrowed from the S6. The screen is QuadHD similar to the S6, and although it is 5.7″, the phone is overall smaller than the Note 4; the curved back design makes it easier to hold with one hand. It is powered by the same 8-core Exynos processor as the S6, and it comes with 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage (no 128GB and no SD card expansion). The battery now has a 3’000mAh capacity with quick charge and wireless charge support. The camera is also borrowed from the S6, coming in 16MP and OIS.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ positions itself between the S6 and the Note 5, taking on the larger size of the latter with the design and non-corporate feel of the former. It has the same curved glass screen and edge screen but is now 5.7″ like the Note 5. It also shares the internals of the Note 5, with 4GB RAM and storage configuration, as well as camera and live-stream capabilities via YouTube.

Finally, as a nod to those who still yearn for the glorious past of physical keyboards, Samsung will be releasing an accessory that attaches a physical keyboard to the Note 5 and S6 Edge+. It works by snapping to the phone, and the interface re-adjusts to fit the rest of the screen. The screen senses presses, eliminating any need for bluetooth and other configurations. It also doesn’t look particularly attractive.
