Samsung has confined it is postponing the launch of a new smartphone model that runs on its own Tizen software.
The news comes after Samsung had been on track to debut the Tizen in Russia during the third quarter of this year. In a statement, the company said on Monday it needed more time to “further enhance the Tizen ecosystem”.
No details about the complications and what is needed to be done or how long the delay would be, but analysts suggested that Samsung had concerns over the availability of apps and related services on the ‘Tizen ecosystem’.
Japan’s NTT DoCoMo and France’s Orange pulled out the promotional campaigns related to launching the Tizen phone.
Samsung showed a Tizen prototype (Samsung Z) smartphone earlier this year at its developer conference in San Francisco.
