The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has released a Windows Phone app, and while an iOS and Android versions are available, the WP app is fast, elegant, fluid, and most importantly, useful.
The app is divided into four different screens: Public Transport, Road Users, Madinati, and Places of Interest. Here is a small list of functions the app provides:
- Locations for metro and bus stations around you, with a link to the maps app and directions
- Taxi booking
- RTA service centre locations
- mParking functionality
- Fine inquiries
- Petrol station locations by distance, with navigation
- Hospitals, shopping malls, and tourist attractions with navigation
The app has more functions, but it proves to be indispensable if you’re new to Dubai and you’re trying to find your way around. That it is elegant and beautiful is more reason to have it installed if only to show it off to people.
