The Razer Blade and the Razer Blade Stealth are amongst the best gaming laptops out there, though they both have one big problem holding them back; the battery. The depressing amount of time it could last with a full charge, made the portable nature of the laptops come into question. However, it looks like Razer are upgrading the Blade and Blade Stealth with new parts in an attempt to woo us to buy more.
Nvidia’s Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1060 will serve as the new graphics powerhouse for the Razer Blade; the exact graphics card for the Stealth isn’t known and in all likeliness will probably feature an integrated graphics card. While the GTX 1060 isn’t the top of the line when it comes to current generation cards, it’s still far ahead of the curve compared to similarly priced last-gen cards. Furthermore, there’s a bit more customizability available for the Razer Blade; meaning the price of the laptop can be as low $1,799 or as high as $ 2,699.
Options that you can tweak for the Blade include the 14-inch display which could either be a sensible FHD 1080p resolution screen or a captivating QHD+ (3,200p x 1800p) screen that’ll blow your eyes out. Furthermore, the QHD+ display also features touchscreen capabilities. Storage is another feature you can customise; you can choose either 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage space, with all the storage options being SSDs. All configurations include the GTX 1060, Intel Core i7-6700HQ, and 16GB of DDR4 memory.
The Razer Blade Stealth is toned down, selling for as low as $999 to as high as $1,799. All configurations of the Stealth will feature a 12.5-inch touch display and a seventh-generation 2.7GHz Intel Core i7-7500U processor. Furthermore, the Stealth will also experience an upgrade to its battery; it’ll be 15% larger and will allow for up to 9 hours of usage according to Razer. Customizable options include the display which could be QHD (2,560-by-1,440 resolution) or 4K (3,840-by-2,160 resolution), while storage sizes start at 128GB and max out at 1TB.
