Following the footsteps of their Snapdragon 615 processor which was announced back in February 2014, Qualcomm Technologies has announced its successor, the Snapdragon 616.
The Snapdragon 616 is upgraded to deliver faster performance than its predecessor and offers superior connectivity with X5 LTE, Full 1080p HD support including an HEVC (H.265) video codec, plus the Qualcomm Adreno 405 with support for advanced features like hardware tessellation, and a 64-bit CPU capable of processing tasks even more handily than the 615.
The first device to take advantage of this Snapdragon 616 is the Huawei Maimang 4. A 1080p 5.5-inch display, all-metal body smartphone.
