Sony has announced the launch of its SmartEyeglass Developer Edition augmented reality glasses. The device will launch in 10 countries this March, with pre-orders now open in the UK and Germany and other European countries to follow soon.
Sony says it’s focusing on enterprise customers in Europe to help drive the development of apps for industrial and business use. The glasses will need to be paired with a compatible smartphone to work.
Sony has also released a software development kit for developers and an app on Google Play which enables voice control and access to Twitter, Facebook and Gmail.
The glasses look bulky and have an $840 price tag attached.
