Play Anghami Tracks Straight From Your Twitter Timeline

Twitter today announced its pioneering collaboration with Anghami, the first music streaming platform in the MENA region, to commence the roll out of Twitter Audio Cards for the first time in the region. The Audio Cards will let Twitter users discover and listen to a 30-second preview of Anghami tracks directly on their timelines without having to open the Anghami application itself.

A Twitter Audio Card lets people discover and listen to audio directly on their timelines. Any Tweet with an Anghami track link will play the audio in-line, so people can listen to the song without having to leave their Twitter feed. The music conversation on Twitter is extensive, and with Twitter’s recent updates regarding the word count, more conversation regarding music will surface onto the platform.

“We’re incredibly excited about the potential of this launch, as it reinforces Twitter’s objective to bring premium music content onto the platform. Music has long been one of the biggest passions on Twitter, with artists from the region reaching new milestones with their number of followers. Being the first time Twitter launches Audio Cards in the Middle East, we only saw fit to launch it in collaboration with Anghami, an application that has reached a total of 28 million people in the region.”

– Kinda Ibrahim, Director of Media Partnerships, Twitter MENA.

To use the Audio Cards, listeners merely have to click or tap on the song to start playing the music. They could also click on the Anghami icon in order to play the full song. The integration of Anghami into Twitter enables people to easily share songs, or snippets of songs, onto their feed, even when they’re in the middle of a playlist.

“Anghami started with a mission to spread music across the Middle East. Now with Twitter, we’re bringing it to the timeline. Every Tweet can now contain music bringing users closer to their favorite artists.”

– Elie Habib, CTO, Anghami

Twitter’s Audio Cards, in collaboration with Anghami, will enable people to discover the latest releases of tracks and albums from their favorite artists and be apprised of the current popular tracks in the Middle East region.
