Opera Software has introduced a new power-saving mode to its browser app on OS X and Windows. The power-saving mode will ensure that laptop batteries can last longer.
Opera says that the new feature guarantees the extension of a laptop’s battery life by up to 50%. The power saving mode is now available in the latest developer build of the browser, and can be activated via the battery icon which becomes visible once the laptop is unplugged from its power source.

The new feature is said to reduce activities from running tabs in the background and optimise video playing, in addition to a few memory management tweaks.
