Yep, you heard it, apparently the FM era is coming to an end……in Norway at least.
Norway will become the first country in the world to completely phase out radio stations still broadcasting on FM. As of the 11th January 2017, the country’s radio stations will all be shifted to Digital Audio Broadcasting.
Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) already hosts 22 national channels in Norway, as opposed to FM radio’s five. Other countries in Europe and Southeast Asia are also in the process of transitioning to DAB.
So will we see this roll out to other regions? what do you think? I personally still can’t believe this is happening!
