Nokia has decided to enter the VR industry from a different angle and has announced ‘OZO’, the first commercial virtual reality camera for professional content creators.
OZO is designed and built for professional content creators, and is the first in a planned portfolio of digital media solutions, Nokia said.
The new device features eight synchronized global shutter sensors, eight integrated microphones, which Nokia says enables spatially accurate sound. The company is also developing software to support the OZO that will enable real-time 3D playback.
The new software and hardware will make it easier for content creators to produce VR videos for head-mounted displays.
Full specifications and prices will be released at a future date before the end of the year.
