Nokia said it has no plans to resume its smartphone manufacturing division, denying reports that the company is returning to the business it sold to Microsoft soon.
Nokia notes recent news reports claiming the company communicated an intention to manufacture consumer handsets out of a R&D facility in China, these reports are false, and include comments incorrectly attributed to a Nokia Networks executive, said the company in a statement.
Nokia exited the handset business last year when Microsoft formally acquired its devices unit.
