New version of Google translate will include WordLens image translation

A while ago Google purchased the company behind the development of WordLens app, which translates text and images / signs from any language to your own by simply pointing the camera at it and get the translation result in the lens.

Well, it looks like Google’s own Translate platform and app will soon get a major update to include the ‘Live translate’ feature.

The rollout of Live Translate will work in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish initially and will have the ability to translate both ways in any of the mentioned languages using the camera lens.

The new app will also bring an updated conversation mode, which can detect both languages being used in a live conversation and automatically translate it on the go as words are being spoken.

No date has been confirmed for this update yet, but sources who tried the beta version say the testing is complete and ready to launch soon.
