With Android Wear 2.0 rolling out slowly to Android-based smartwatches everywhere, there’s also been a slow roll out of luxury smartwatches. We’ve seen the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 come out recently, a luxury modular smartwatch worth $1,600 and now Movado have unveiled their own Movado Connect.

The Movado Connect is the first luxury smartwatch from the company to be based on Android Wear 2.0, the latest iteration of the smartwatch-based operating system. When it comes to design, it takes the crown for minimalist design, featuring the iconic single dot Movado uses to indicate the 12 o’clock placement for the otherwise simple face. The watch face is also similar to the Movado Museum model.
“This fall, Movado will introduce a touchscreen smartwatch that brings midcentury modern design into the new millennium with cutting-edge technology. One of the first watches designed specifically for Android Wear 2.0, this smartwatch features over 100 fascinating dial variations. Each dial explores Movado’s iconic single dot design with brilliant new color, dimension, complication, details and day to night transformation.”
Movado has been tight-lipped about the hardware and features of the Connect, revealing only the design at the Baselworld Watch show. However, the price has been revealed and compared to the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45, the Movado Connect is set to launch in Autumn with five different men’s styles that start at $495.
