As part of its ongoing mission to become the solutions provider of choice for small and medium businesses in the UAE, Microsoft Gulf has taken on the role of exclusive technology partner at the SME World Summit 2016, to be held at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai on 15 March, 2016.

This partnership echoes Microsoft’s commitment to the UAE’s national vision of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation by equipping organisations with the latest technology tools and solutions to drive the economy forward.

The event will include a keynote address by Microsoft spokesperson Tareq Hijazi, Director, Small and Mid-Market Solutions and Partners Group, which will illuminate the many opportunities accorded to SMEs through the adoption of modern workplace solutions. The summit will also feature a panel discussion where delegates can gain insights from Haider Salloum, SMB Director, Microsoft Gulf, on the numerous competitive advantages available to businesses that leverage technology astutely.

Microsoft will showcase its latest Windows 10 operating system and its cloud tools at the event on a wide range of latest devices from OEM partners. Built with entrepreneurs and start-ups in mind, the latest suite of Microsoft technologies is aimed at bringing enterprise-level computing to organisations of all scales. Now SMEs can build a truly connected and enabled workplace that puts mobility at the heart of business operations.

Microsoft will also hold a devices session during the summit targeted specifically at SMBs, where participants will be able to see first-hand just how versatile Windows 10 is. The session will concentrate on the flexibility of the new OS – from its ability to live and breathe freely on any device, to its enterprise-grade security capabilities, which simplify the protection of corporate infrastructures, from the smallest client-server LANs to the largest global networks.

Small and medium enterprises remain a vital component of the UAE’s future prosperity, currently contributing over 60% of the country’s non-oil GDP, according to government figures. In light of the government’s further estimates – that this contribution will grow to over 70% by 2021 – Microsoft is looking forward to a future as a trusted partner at the forefront of this growth, equipping businesses with powerful technology tools that allow them to achieve more.
