A user on reddit has posted a screenshot of the first notification for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users promoting them to be ready to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
The promotion appears in a notification form on the task bar and allows users to ‘reserve’ their free upgrade to Windows 10. The notification is apparently triggered by a recent update ( KB3035583), which is also the same update that will allow Windows 10 to be automatically installed when it’s available.
Microsoft revealed Windows 10 back in January and said it would offer free Windows 10 upgrades to those running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1. Windows 10 for PCs is launching later this summer.
