Microsoft is currently working on new gestures for Windows Phone OS, and has released a new app in beta to put the new features into testing.
The new gestures will give users the ability to interact without touching the phone display. Some features include controlling calls and silencing your phone through gestures and answer a call by picking up the phone. Additionally, putting the phone down on flat surface while ringing will silence it, screen down while on a call will mute it, screen up on a call will activate the speakerphone.
As of now, the features are available in a standalone app without any confirmation from Microsoft on wether it will be incorporated permanently in the OS.
Gestures Beta app will work with all Lumia phones, but has”limited functionality” with Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and Lumia 530.
Download the beta app from the Windows Phone Store.
