Microsoft launched a new commercial comparing Cortana virtual assistant to Apple’s Siri, demonstrating how Cortana is able to perform contextually-aware tasks, while Siri fails at the same. The commercial for Windows Phone 8.1 shows Cortana on a Lumia 635 against Siri on an iPhone 5s.
In the ad, the narrator asks Cortana to remind him to wish his wife a happy birthday he next time she calls as the voice assistant schedules a reminder around the call. The Narrator next asks Cortana to remind him to get roses when he comes near any flower shop, while Siri says “Oh no, i can’t do that”.
Cortana is only available to US-based Windows Phone users right now.
