Facebook has launched a standalone, web version of its Messenger application, which you can use immediately on messenger.com – all you need to do is log in with your Facebook and you’re done.
Once signed in, you’ll see all your chats in full screen, and you can add people to chats, mute notifications, and do just about anything you can currently do on the messenger app except for the newly-integrated third-party gif functions.
Interestingly, the design language used is that of iOS. We are not sure why that is – perhaps to keep some uniformity even though many people do use android as well. Or perhaps if they made a completely new UI, it will alienate people, while a familiar design will make people feel at home.
In any case, go ahead and give it a spin and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
