Mark Zuckerberg is building an A.I much like Jarvis

Philanthropy isn’t all that Mark Zuckerberg does during his paternity leave. The Facebook founder has undertaken numerous “challenges” in the past, such as reading two books in a month (something I’m good at), meeting at least one new person every day (something I’m alright at) and learning Mandarin (something I’ve failed abysmally at). In a post on Facebook he has announced that he now he plans to build an A.I much like Jarvis from Iron Man.

His end goal? World domina– to help him manage his household and to present him with virtual reality visualisations of his work.

“I’m going to start by exploring what technology is already out there. Then I’ll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home — music, lights, temperature and so on. I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell. I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s room that I need to check on when I’m not with her. On the work side, it’ll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively.”

– Mark Zuckerberg, Founder & CEO of Facebook.

The visualizing data in VR is perhaps the most difficult part of the idea but perhaps he can ask Elon Musk to help him with that. The Spacex founder has a setup similar to Tony Stark in his office, though nowhere near the CGI goodness of the Marvel films.

Zuckerberg plans to share his progress along the way and has already encouraged people commenting on the post to work hard towards their own endeavours.
