According to two different reports, both android and iPhone users have been jumping ship and migrating to the other platform. What gives?
9TO5Mac has quoted Tim Cook saying that 62% of the iPhone 4S owners and 60% of 5c owners have switched from android. Specifically, low-end android phones.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph reported that 38% of people upgrading to the Galaxy S5 have been iPhone users.
So what does this tell us? I’m inclined to say that lower-end android users are fed up with their slow phones with an outdated OS and hence jump to fast and affordable iPhones, whereas iPhone users are finding the switch to high end devices a better investment.
People swapping in their old phones for recent models is nothing new, but between android and iOS users, brand loyalty is often a brutal war of the egos. But in reality I guess that people are just after the best phone they can afford.
