LG’s weird looking AKA smartphone that was launched in Korea last year is now rolling out to international markets. The first phase of the roll out will include Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Turkey.
The smartphone which has eyes popping out to of the case is available in four different identities – Wooky in white, speaking slang, Soul in dark blue who loves music, Eggy in yellow who is a romantic and Yo-Yo in pink who apparently is on diet…or maybe not.
The eyes work like a notification reminder with different emotions, with the color of the eye changing according to the type of notification received.
The new AKA phones feature a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB built-in storage, Android 4.4 KitKat and runs 2610 mAh battery.
To celebrate AKA’s overseas rollout, LG is collaborating with TUBA Entertainment, the creators of the popular Larvaanimated series, to produce a new series called Rotary Park. The first episode of Rotary Park will debut on March 20 on YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/TheRotarypark).
