In a bid to support Dubai Cares’ initiatives to provide children in developing countries with access to quality primary education, Lenovo, the world’s No.1 PC vendor, has launched the #Gold4Good online auction for the world’s first ever 9 carat real solid gold laptop starting at the GITEX Shopper Spring 2015.
All proceeds will go to Dubai Cares, the philanthropic organization, launched in 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
The online auction for the 9 carat solid gold Yoga 3 Pro will commence on April 1st 2015 for two weeks with the opening bid starting at AED 50,000 (USD 13,600).

Education is a critical factor in every child’s development, yet many of us take it for granted; while in the developing world, children face daily obstacles that prevent them from going to school and learning. The gold Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro laptop is an exclusively handcrafted luxury creation for Lenovo with only one piece made. It is the first 330 gram solid gold laptop currently in the market.
The laptop exterior and interior keyboard are made of real 9 carat solid gold (not plated) with 6 weeks of stage by stage creation from design to production. The concept is “Uniqueness: just as the Yoga 3 Pro laptop”. The inspiration behind the design is to reflect an aerial view of a diamond with each individual piece of solid gold part assembled like a mosaic.
The gold Yoga 3 Pro will be displayed at the Lenovo stand at GITEX Shopper Spring 2015 during its four-day run. GITEX visitors who bid for the gold Yoga 3 Pro live at the stand will receive a free Yoga Tablet*.
