Instagram filters may have contributed to the popular return of “vintage photography”, and in a world saturated with toy cameras, pin-hole cameras as well as the dominance of Fuji’s Instax series, Leica enters the foray with – of course – a luxury instant camera of their own. Meet the Leica Sofort.

So what is really different about this camera than, say, Fujifilm’s Instax Neo Classic? Well, for starters, it comes in white, mint, and orange, in a slightly nicer design. It also has the Leica branding, which comes with a $299 price tag. Now you can finally say you can afford a Leica (and so will everyone else).
Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be a big difference between it and the Fujifilm Neo Classic. Both have multiple shooting options, such as party, sport, macro, double-exposure, and automatic. The Leica has a “selfie” mode, which makes it easier to take a selfie. Both cameras use Fujifilm’s Instax films (the colour and the recently announced monochrome), although you can also buy Leica-branded Instax films as well.
I personally absolutely love the Instax photos, so if you don’t have a polaroid camera yet, it’s time to consider getting one.
