It’s less than a week before Google’s event, where the company is expected to launch two new Nexus phones, and Android Police got their hands on leaked imaged of the final retail devices as well as the packaging.
The bigger Nexus is built by Huawei and will be called the Nexus 6P. It’ll have a 5.7″ display with front-facing speakers. On the back is a black bar which houses the lens and flash. Additionally, there is a fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC. It’s certainly a peculiar looking phone and not to my taste and reminds me of a submarine’s periscope.
LG’s Nexus is a more manageable 5.2″ phone, and will be called the Nexus 5X. It looks a lot better and more elegant in my opinion, although I’m not quite fond of the lens bump on it either.
I personally believe the original 2013 Nexus 5 is one of the finest phones ever made and I was disappointed in the Nexus 6. I’m hoping the new Nexus phones will change my mind, so for now it’s just a waiting game until September 29.
