Jawbone has unveiled new products to add to their Up lineup. The Jawbone Up2 and Up4 join the Up3 which was announced last year.
The UP4 brings in mobile payments to the wearable via NFC. The Up4 will be priced at $199 and is loaded with extra features like the mobile payments capability, but there’s a catch….the mobile payments only work if you’re an American Express cardholder. In theory all you should do is tap your bracelet on a compatible Amex reader and walk away, says Jawbone.
The UP2 replaces the UP24 and comes in at $99 and is meant as a replacement to the Up24 which is now discontinued. The Up2 is 45% smaller than the Up24 and will last around seven days on a single charge. On top of the typical activity and sleep tracking Jawbone’s known for, the Up2 is waterproof and can synchronize with your phone wirelessly over Bluetooth.
The Up2 is already rolling out, while the Up4 will begin shipping this summer.
