After a two-year wait, Samsung has finally launched its first Tizen powered smartphone in India as previously reported.
Meet theSamsung Z1:
The Z1, the first smartphone running on its own operating system Tizen will be available as of today in India priced at around $90. The Samsung Z1 is an entry-level handset.
The Z1 features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) PLS display, powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 768MB of RAM. It sports a 3.1-megapixel rear camera; and a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera. Storage wise, the Z1 comes with a 4GB built-in storage expandable via microSD up to 64GB, and a 1500mAh battery.
Despite its low specs, Samsung is saying that the phone has a fast boot time, excellent web performance, and battery life, all thanks to what the company describes as the “lightweight Tizen platform.”
