After 67 years of production, the Land Rover Defender has been officially discontinued from production. More than two million cars have been made since the original Land Rover Series began production in Solihull in 1948.

Strict measures for new car emissions has enforced “conditions the Defender just won’t meet,” the company said.

The company also said that parts will continue to be manufactured for 15 years and a new model to replace the Defender is planned but not revealed yet.

All 700 employees who worked on the Defender were invited to a farewell to the iconic model.

It’s truly sad to see this car go a way….
