iPhone users, you are not alone. New reports confirm that Skype has also been hit by a nasty bug that crashes the app once a specific string is received.
“http://:” (without the quotes), is enough to put Skype into an endless crash loop. The bug is affecting the app on Android, iOS and Windows. The Mac version remains unaffected.
Sending the message from Skype for Windows also crashes the app.
“We are aware of the problem and are working to provide an resolution,” a Skype spokesperson told VentureBeat.

Update: It’s good news time, it looks like Skype has fixed the bug and issued an update that supposedly addresses the problem.
