Instagram has announced that it will be starting to rearrange the order of posts you see in your feeds. The move from chronological to “based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post” will start in testing phase immediately and roll out to all users eventually.
All the posts will still be there, just in a different order.
In a nutshell, your Instagram will work in a way similar to Facebook’s News Feed.
In a report to Times, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said that users now miss 70% of the posts in their feed and that this move “..is about making sure that the 30% you see is the best 30% possible.”
