Instagram 6.0 has officially launched with major changes.
Instagram 6.0 has rolled out a new set of editing tools that will remove the need to use another app that is usually used for photo editing. Now, you’ll be able to tweak brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, sharpness, and control the strength of each filter.
Instagram has added sliders to control 9 new photo effects which give users the power of desktop editing softwares and photo apps like Camera+ and Photoshop Express.
“I wish there were apps that are free and do this well but they’re either expensive, or $1.99 and not that great. Now instead of using multiple apps to get your photos looking the way you want, you can just come to Instagram.” Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom Said.

- Brightness
- Contrast
- Warmth
- Saturation
- Highlights
- Shadows
- Vignette
- Sharpen
“We are aiming to make the core better, creating more of an ecosystem,” Systrom Said, “Everyone can build a photo app, but not everyone can build a community.”
The new version is now available for both iOS and Android.
