Google is currently gearing up to launch Android Wear 2.0, the next stage in the wearable platform’s journey. Wear 2.0 is expected to be a major upgrade to the platform, introducing features such as making smartwatches more autonomous. While the update is still in the works, one company is already gearing up their new line of smartwatches. Pictures of the LG Watch Style have leaked along with a price tag, thanks to Evan Bless.
The images of the LG Watch Style were showcased by notorious leaker Evan Bless, who displayed the watch in two different colours. The Style is expected to go on sale for $249. Specs that are known about it so far include its 1.2-inch 360 x 360-pixel display, 512MB RAM and a 240mAh battery. Whether that package is worth the price is to be determined.
Meanwhile, the LG Watch Sport adds LTE, NFC, a heart-rate monitor, GPS, and a bigger, higher-res display. Expect it to cost at least $100 more than the Style.
The South Korean company is expected to officially unveil both wearables on February 9 and begin selling them in the US the next day. They are expected to roll out worldwide in the following months. Android Wear 2.0 is also expected to be revealed around the same time.
