Huawei Honor #1

Huawei Honor has achieved strong business momentum both globally and across the Middle East in the last four months. It kicked off the year with the introduction of its mighty budget smartphone; the honor 6x at CES that has earned ten awards from a range of global technology and business media publications.  Honor 6X stood out for its outstanding camera, high-end specs, high-speed software and long battery life. The 6x has lead the conversation on how technology is changing our lives from culture to business science to design, reaching digital natives around the world.

“Honor develops products with its consumers at the forefront, designed for those digital natives who defy norm and bravery. The sporadically evolving market needs come from our digital natives hunger for technology. It’s particularly high in the GCC market as the working age population grew strongly in the past 15 years with UAE growth rate at 25% between 2000 and 2015, according to a study by Moody’s Investor’s service. As such, we will continue to invest in innovation, explore new technology areas and also seek to make further progress in addressing key customer concerns such as battery life and camera capabilities. We will evolve our products to better suit what younger generations want from their mobile devices, while also boldly introducing fresh elements from the worlds of fashion, design and entertainment to create a trend-setting brand.”

– Chris Sun Baigong, Vice President of Huawei honor in the Middle East region.

The release of the honor 8 lite; the latest smartphone launched under the flagship Honor 8 series, in March, showcased the company’s ability to incorporate innovation for the customers’ advantage. The honor 8 lite stands out as the only phone with 3GB RAM in a sleek design body within its price category. It offers eye-catching aesthetics and high-performance that the honor brand is known for at an attractive price point for the internet-minded, style-conscious millennial looking for a technologically advanced device. The sleek-looking Honor 8 Lite offers snappy performance, supported by strong battery life, as well as advanced camera capabilities.

Embodying the motto “Beauty at your reach”, the Honor 8 Lite, followed the success of the Honor 8, which was awarded Second Prize in the Media and Home Electronics Competition for the International Design award. IDA is considered to be one of the few internationally recognised awards for design disciplines around the world that exists to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design.

The brand’s last year flagship, honor 8 achieved record-breaking sales in the 25 countries it is available in; selling over 1.5 million units in the first 50 days after its debut globally. The flagship device has also reaped a number of awards since its launch, including “Editor’s Choice” by Android Central and Tom’s Guide; “Best Smartphone of the Year 2016-2017”. In Sweden and Finland, the Honor 8 recorded the highest sales in the EUR400-500 price range, while becoming the second most sought-after smartphone in the same price range in Russia. Furthermore, it also emerged as the best seller on Amazon in Germany (handset and Smartphone) and Italy (telephone) during Black Friday Sales 2016.

“The start of 2017 has been exciting for us and looking ahead, Huawei Honor has lined up several more competitive products for 2017 featuring breakthroughs in technology and design that will spearhead the brand’s business growth in key target markets such as the Middle East,” said Mr. Baigong.
