HTC has just announced their latest mid-range device, the HTC One A9.
The all-new, all-metal Android 6.0 Marshmallow device packs all the familiar HTC software skin and features like the Zoe camera mode and a fingerprint scanner on the bottom of the screen.
The all-metal unibody chassis of the A9 is 7.26mm thick, has a flat back, rounded metal sides and covers 5-inch 1080p AMOLED edge-to-edge, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display.
HTC is a smartphone pioneer, having delivered the first Android smartphone, the first Windows smartphone, the first 4G smartphone, and the first all-metal smartphone, said Cher Wang, chairwoman and CEO, HTC. Today we’re taking that heritage of innovation to the next level, unveiling a phone that stands apart in a market increasingly dominated by a company which controls every aspect of your phone. The HTC One A9 breaks from this trend by offering an incredible design, fantastic performance, cutting-edge software features and the freedom to take full control of your smartphone experience.
The disappointment? HTC’s BoomSound front facing speakers have disappeared and been replaced with a single speaker on the bottom of the phone. HTC says that BoomSound is also integrated into the headset combined with Dolby Audio surround technology, delivering immersive, vibrant sound that matches a live experience in your headphones by taking high-resolution audio to the next level. With a built-in DAC that delivers audio at 24-bit, 192KHz quality – better than CD quality – it provides richness and depth experience.
The HTC One A9 is armed with the brand new 1.5-GHz Snapdragon 617 oct-core processor and powered by a 2,150 man battery. The A9 also rocks a 13-megapixel rear camera that includes optical image stabilization and features like a Hyperlapse editing tool, 3GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage and a up to 2TB microSD expansion.
HTC will launch the A9 in four colors, the Topaz Gold, Carbon Grey, Opal Silver, and Deep Garnet beginning of November. No official pricing for the Middle East yet.
