Asustek Computer Inc may be looking into buying HTC – which has been struggling and lost 20% in share value on Monday and Tuesday – according to Reuters. However, no formal evaluation for such a merger has been made yet.

ASUS is relatively new to the smartphone scene, and both Taiwanese companies are facing pressure from the industry such as Apple and Samsung.

HTC has strongly rejected the possibility of an acquisition by Asus.
