Drones are all over the place these days, and Google is the newest contestant with its Google X “Project Wing”, promising to deliver small packages and emergency items into remote locations or areas where vehicles cannot reach.
The drones are completely autonomous and are a hybrid between copter and plane designs. The rotors are mounted at the front for takeoff and hovering and the drone can reorient itself once in the air to fly like a plane in what is called a tail-sitter design.
The project is still a couple of years away from being rolled out, and it might see the light for commercial goods delivery.
