Many developers have attempted to redefine the inbox, but Google has now rolled up its sleeve and jumped in with their new app, Inbox.
Reports of Google attempting to redesign Gmail have surfaced back in May 2014, when a few screenshots were leaked showcasing a radical, card-based redesign of the service. Now, however, it appears to be an entirely new application.
“Inbox” is essentially a smart inbox that seems to have borrowed design and functionality from Google Now and fused it with Gmail. Your emails are now intelligently analysed and presented to you in relevant, comprehensible bites. Google Now functionalities have been added, like reminders, as well as a plethora of different features.
