Unless you’ve been living under a rock in Dubai, you can’t be a stranger to the bi-annual tech phenomenon that is GITEX Shopper. Until some time ago, the people of Dubai were treated to GITEX Shopper just once a year, in October, but for the last few years, a Spring version of GITEX Shopper (albeit a shorter one) has been added.
Aside from new product launches (much like any tech expo around the world), GITEX Shopper promises amazing price deals and the tech-savvy population of Dubai lines up to lap up these offers. It’s a great sales drive for electronics retailers and brands alike, as it adds a seasonal element to their sales cycles at a comparatively lower than average buying period.
Once at GITEX Shopper, the visitor is exposed to on array of leading technology brands like Lenovo, ASUS, HP, Acer and Toshiba to name a few, plus GITEX also presents the opportunity for start-ups to launch themselves. As a shopper, one can find the best deals and offers on notebooks, desktops, tablets, 2-in-1s and mobile, as well as other categories like home entertainment.
With tech conferences like CES and MWC already done earlier in the year, it won’t be surprising to see some of the technologies and products that were launched there to have made there way to GITEX Shopper. If you’ve been looking to buy a 2-in1 device powered by a superior Intel processor, you may want to pay GITEX Shopper a visit as you’ll be treated to a whole range to choose from, and, at the best prices.
This time around, they’ve added a new dimension to the exhibition. The ‘Shopper Smart Living’ is a dedicated section with the latest in home appliances, energy efficient white goods and smart home tech. This new segment will bring the latest in innovation and eco-friendly advances in everything from washing machines, refrigerators and dishwashers to air conditioning units, ionisers and lighting – products that weren’t earlier pushed at GITEX Shopper.
‘Shopper Smart Living’ comes at a great time for the region – the fast growing local population (nearly 9.6 million people) has an increasing demand for home appliances and consumer tech products. In fact, the market for in-house appliances alone is forecast to reach AED 4 billion by 2017. (Source: Emirates247.com)
The new segment will allow for consumer brands to expand their product offering, plus may mark the entry of pure Home Appliance brands as well, to be showcased at a high footfall event, something that had been lacking till now.
GITEX Shopper promises the widest variety of gizmos and gadgets at the best prices under one roof, plus fun activities for families and a dedicated Metro station just steps away.

GITEX Shopper Spring 2015 and Shopper Smart Living will take place from 1 – 4 April and will open from 11:00am – 11:00pm every day. This year, ticket prices have gone up by AED 5 per ticket, and are now being sold for AED20/- per person, but include access to both GITEX Shopper Spring and Shopper Smart Living. Entry is free for children under the age of five.
