Snapchat is hopping aboard the cash train in an effort to raise a profit along the way, with their latest venture being custom geofilters. While geofilters have been a feature of Snapchat for some time now, they’ve only covered vast expanses, such as cities or districts, or were in use during specific occasion like holidays. Now however it’s letting users make their own 100% personalised frames for a specific location. There are a few catches however.

Firstly, they aren’t free. Prices start at $5 and increase depending on how much time you want the filter to be available for and for how big an area it can be used in. When it comes to the area, there’s another catch, the minimum geofenced area starts at 20,000 feet which is great for small businesses and events like weddings and so forth. Luckily if you own a couple of acres, you can expand that geofenced area upto 5 million square feet.
