LG announced the release of the G3 Screen, a new phone powered by a Nuclun processor, designed by LG.

The LG Screen will be powered by LG’s in-house built NUCLUN Octa-Core running Android 4.4 KitKat with a  5.9-inch Full HD IPS display. Other specs include  32GB  storage, 2GB RAM, MicroSD slot, 13 MP Rear camera (Front 2.1MP) and a 3,000mAh battery. The new phone will launch exclusively in Korea for now.

LG’s in-house built chip features four 1.5GHz Cortex-A15 cores for high-performance tasks and four 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 cores for low demanding ones and uses ARM’s big.LITTLE technology to do so.

Nuclun opens up a new chapter in LG’s history of innovation in the mobile industry, with this in-house solution, we will be able to achieve better vertical integration and further diversity our product strategy against stronger competition. NUCLUN will give us greater flexibility in our mobile strategy going forward. said Dr. Jong-seok Park, head of LG Mobile.

The G3 Screen will be available in black and white and will launch in Korea at first. No pricing is yet available.
