Samsung is going through terribly tough times with Note 7 phones detonating everywhere. It’s quite the shame, really, given to how amazing the phone is otherwise. Not only will the be facing a tarnished brand image for a long time to come, but they’re also suffering the financial repercussions of this, with losing $26 billion so far in market value as well as the costs for the Note 7 recall.
In a small slither of hope, though, you may not need to return your device after all.
If you’ve purchased your phone from the US prior to September 15, Samsung has set up a portal where you can enter the IMEI number of your phone, and it will let you know whether you’re an affected customer, and the steps you need to take from there. Alternatively, you can also download the Samsung+ app which will automatically do the checking for you.
