American aerospace company ARCA Space just listed their hoverboard project on Kickstarter with an aim to raise $250,000.
The ArcaBoard can levitate to a height of around 30 cm and can carry up to 110 kg using 36 fans at a speed of 20 km/h, and it weighs 82 kg.
The catch? The ArcaBoard has a six-minute battery life and its price tag: US$10,000 and another $4500 for the fast charger which will recharge its batteries in 35 minutes compared to the standard six hours.
ArcaBoard represents a revolution in motion, said ARCA Space CEO Dumitru Popescu. For the last 17 years we have developed aerospace technologies that looked to the sky. We took our knowledge and applied it to everyone’s dreams.
The company is also giving the option for people to become test pilots for the hoverboard by donating $2,000 which will allow you to “spend five days with ARCA’s engineers and perform flight tests and be directly involved in the R&D process for the ArcaBoard.”
